Brad was knowledgeable about home movie projectors. Over the period of about a year-and-a-half (approximately Nov and Feb) He came to my home on three occasions to show me how to use some of the equipment, and ordered a lamp (light bulb) for my projector. His business card said it was in Temecula, Ca in Southern California. I'm in the north state. Brad said he was thinking of transferring his business to this general area.
I had occasion to talk to Brad a few times in 2007 and 2008. I would be asking about something with the movie set-up.
Approximately May a message appeared on the movie screen saying the lamp would be going out soon. I contacted Brad to see where he had ordered the previous one from. He said he would get it and either mail to me or deliver. "Please send a check for $400." Check was cashed in a bank in El Segundo. My bank requested a copy be sent to me. After about 3-4 week called phone in Temec, it had been disconnected. Of course.
August 24 sent a certified letter to him. It was returned, no forwarding address.
So we went to my local police. They called Temecula police who went to the address and said it was only vacant lots on that street. He had no record but there was a judgment against him??? Soooo back to my police who said forgeddaboudit.
