Sears Roebuck
Buyer of any large appliances beware!

My mother added me to her Sears credit card so I could purchase a washer and dryer from Sears to and recieve the no interest program they were advertising for purchases of $399 and up. I went to the store the day after Thanksgiving in 2008 to purchase the washer and dryer set that was on sale for $599.
When I was at the register making my purchase I found out that I could not have it delivered for a couple months because they were out of stock. I was suppose to be going to settlement on a new home on February 5th, so I decided to have it delivered there the week after.
Upon recieving the statement I realized that I was not recieving the interest free promotion as advertised. I called the Sears Credit Card Department who were VERY rude and said they could not do anything that I needed to contact the store, so I called the store and spoke with the associate that I purchased it from, who told me that I could do the free delivery instead and I would save more money, all I needed to do was send in the rebate form after it was delivered, I settled on the free delivery, seeing no other option availble since the credit card department would not fix it.
My contract fell through on the new home and I immediately called Sears to change the delivery date and address for the washer and dryer. After multiple contracts falling through on new homes and muliple calls to reschedule I finally asked Sears delivery if there was anyway I could just not make a delivery date and call them when I got another firmer date. They stated that this would be fine.
Well, in September I finally got a contract that I knew would go through (it was an approved short sale and the bank had approved my contract) so I called Sears to have them deliver it to the new address on October 26th. Unfortunately the bank had a problem with a lien against the house I was purchasing and had to delay the settlement until November with no specific date. I immediately called Sears yet again to apologize and hold off any firm dates until I was already moved in.
I moved in to my new home on November 12th and called Sears to have my appliances delivered and was told the order had been cancelled and there was nothing they could do, that I would have to contact the store. I contacted the store and they told me they couldn't do anything I needed to speak with Sears delivery again, after speaking with them again they referred me back to the store and once again the store back to delivery. I had had ENOUGH! I asked to speak with a supervisor, so the woman I spoke with got all huffy with me and sent me to the same department that she was in, but another person, NO supervisor! After being on hold for over 45 minutes through two people I finally spoke with a supervisor who stated that it was my fault since I never called them after they sent me many letters, which by the way they were sending to the NEW house, that I was not even living at and did not own! The supervisor told me he would have to refer me to the store again and he would send them an e-mail explaining the situation. (which he never did do)
Which one thing I want to add is that this washer and dryer were still on my mother's credit card and she was STILL paying interest on them, even though I could not get them delivered no matter what I tried or who I talked to.
I went to the store to get this settled. I went in and they tried to send me back to delivery again, but I stood my ground and firmly told them this NEEDED to be taken care of. So they told me the only way to fix this was to return the appliances on the credit card and come back and repurchase them, this was not an option as I took myself off of the credit card due to it showing on my credit report and hurting my debt to income. So the manager finally came over and had an associate do a fake return of the purchase and re-rang the transaction as cash so I could get my washer and dryer.
At this point I thought the problem was resolved, even though I was not very happy about all the frustration and hassle of getting them to take care of ANYTHING. I got my new rebate form and was told to send in for the delivery rebate.
I get a letter a few days letter from the associate who rung me up stating that he returned it once more and repurchased it so he could get the commision off of it and that he enclosed a new reciept with a new form. So I used the new reciept and form to send in for my rebate.
Two months later I call to find out where my rebate is only to find out I was not eligible for the rebate because the associate rang the purchase as a price match and deducted even amounts off each appliance instead of just the one like before. So I call the associate who basically tells me too bad, he can't do anything. Then I call the credit card department which basically calls me a liar and say, "why was I calling now in February for a purchase in 2008?" I now have left two messages with the store manager, but I'm sure I'll either hear nothing back or he will say that he can't do anything further.
I am soo EXTREMELY upset and frustrated over this whole thing. I will never buy another item from Sears or K-mart again! Buyer Beware! Sears will get money out of you anyway they can! They will advertise false promotions and then not fix any issues that their customers have, unless you annoy them to death! (And even then they only half fix it)
