After being referred to him by a family friend and Real Estate professional in the area, I let him manage my property for 6 months, then I had to break the contract. The tenant was living there way before he came into the picture. I was receiving $2200 per month before I hired him. Up to now, he has never sent me any of the rent. He took the first month rent by charging me $2000 to do lawn service. A job that I paid $85 before. He took the second month rent by charging me $1300 t o trim a tree. The third month was over $1000 to fix a toilet. When I got on him for this, he took the toilet out and replaced it with a cheaper toilet that did not even match the bathroom. The forth month, he then charged me $1200 to fix a leak in the roof. The roof never had problems and up to now, no one knows what he did. The fifth month, he took all of the money from the rent because he claims that I owed him from the prior months. After I explained to him that I do not agree with his figures, he became irate and told me that I am just a local living abroad and do not know anything about his area (although I owned the house 10 years before he moved to the area). Now it is a new year and he is sending me a 1099 for $7100 telling me that he paid me this money and he is sending it in as a tax write off for himself. This guy is a crook and is only in the business to rip people off!
