My wife and I were scheduled to fly from Long Beach to New York on June 28th. At 4 am we received a recorded call saying our flight had been cancelled. We called and were told there were "maintenance" problems; however, when pushed, the agent told my wife there was some "weather" in NYC that could cause delays.in addition, Jet Blue was still flying into NYC from another local AP but all flights were booked. The best they could do was book us onto a red eye later tonight. There was no maintenanc problem and the weather was not causing other flights/airlines to cancel; JB simply didn't want to fly a money loser this morning and those of us who had made plans well in advance were screwed. Why? Because they can get away with this nonsense!
