Some things that the company does NOT want you to know

I have been an employee at this Pizza Hut restaurant for a 'considerable' amount of time, and I would like the public to be made aware of quite a few nuiances...

First, there are multiple times that with no other options available, we have been made it known it is OK to use products longer than the shelf life that is recommended by the company

I have seen presauced handtossed pizzas that have a shelf life of 4 hours (no longer than the end of a particular evening at the longest) used in some instances 4 days later... It is regular to use 1-2 day old presauced handtossed pizzas so not to 'waste food and hinder food costs'.

I have seen cheese sauce used in bacon-mac-n-cheese tuscani pastas that has a shelf life of no more than 4 days used over 4 days past the shelf life date.

I have seen management refuse to throw out expired cheese WHEN I SHOWED THEM/MADE THEM SMELL IT! And moments later witnessed a management member use the cheese on a customer's order, when it was obvious that the cheese was more than spoiled.

It is regular to use presauced Stuffed Crust pizzas 2 days after the throw away date so as not to 'waste them if they are not busy'.

ON MANY OCCASIONS. MANAGEMENT has refused to change the oil on the Wingstreet chicken station as long as 14 days, when it is supposed to be changed between 7-10 days... This is a COMMON occurrence, and when this happens, the chicken wings are being more or less cooked in smoking black grease.

The current delivery reimbursement rate is between 78-83 cents per delivery, but corporate charges a $2.50 delivery charge per delivery, and pockets the additional $1.40-50 for each delivery to go to the 'cost of delivery bags' and other items which is an utter and complete line of shit.

Our store location is located 3 miles from Illinois, who's minimum wage is $8 an hour, but the federal is only $7.25... in the past few years the minimum wage has went up, in each instance, some employees that were at minimum wage after each increase have received NO raise, because corporate has been instructed to do so since the minimum wage went up on 7. I am aware of a number of ppl at my store that have been employed 3 years and are currently making minimum wage ($7.25) still, while others are making more (in a couple instances, favortism). Our counterparts that work across the state line all make at least $8 of course, regardless of time employed... So in turn those employees that have 'tenure' with the company also get screwed severely when it comes raise time, since corporate gives less raises each time the min. Wage is increased

I have been aware that 'a few' employees that have been employed as cook/production have had DIFFERENT pay rates if they work at the day shift or the Night shift, which is more or less ILLEGAL. I mean by this that when there is an employee that had availability to work both day and night shifts, that he gets paid LESS when he works at night then when he does during the day (for doing the same job). I can confirm this easily!

This is just the start. Everyone have a nice day!
