I contracted with Forbes Limo (aka AirportlimoNY) for round trip limo service for my family from New Jersey to JFK Airport in Long Island. We were picked up on time for the trip to JFK in a SUV (even though I contracted for a Lincoln Towne Car). The SUV fit my family of 4 and all of our luggage comfortably.
However, when i called for a pickup when we landed at JFK a week later, they sent a Towne car which had a very small trunk and could not fit our 4 pieces of luggage and my family. When I called to complain, I was first told to just put the luggage inside the car with my family jammed in with it. That would not have worked and i asked them to just send a bigger car.
Whichever dispatcher I spoke to told me that he would send an SUV, but he would have to charge me more money (even though we were picked up in an SUV at no extra charge). I told him that was ridiculous and it was their fault for sending a car that would not fit my family's luggage. He told me that i should have known what the trunk space of a Lincoln Towne car was since he said that it was "common knowledge".
It was a cold night close to midnight in January and my family and I had just flown in from California and i was in no mood for continuing that ridiculous conversation. The professional thing to do would have been to just send a bigger car. I was even willing to wait but I was not willing to pay more money. I felt that Forbes was just taking advantage of my vulnerable situation knowing that me and my family were at the airport and had to get home and they figured they could squeeze some more money out of me. I ended up having to take a shuttle to Newark Airport and then another shuttle home costing me about $200.
I asked Forbes to refund half the money i paid them (total of $270) and they sent me $89 instead of the $135 with no explanation or apology. Not only does Forbes owe me $46, but they should also reimburse me for the additional money I had to pay that night to get my family home.
This is the most unprofessional company I have ever dealt with and I would suggest that anyone needing limo services look elsewhere for professional service.
