I thought that LegalZoom would do more research on the quality of the legal services they recommend. I retained an attorney you recommended called Legal Helpers.
I could not be more dissatisfied with them for the following reasons:
1. I had a first time meeting set up with an attorney. I attended the meeting as scheduled. However, I received a letter from the firm 3 days after the meeting, reminding me that the meeting was to take place. What kind of legal firm is so screwed up as to mess up meeting dates.
2. I paid my initial fee when I retained the attorney. I get a letter several days later telling me that I had not paid the fee. Another careless mistake.
3. I retained an attorney in California, so I expect to be able to reach them at any time between 9am and 5 pm PST. No way. Legal Helpers will not provide with a local phone number. The only number I can call is in Chicago, and that office works on Chicago time. If I want to speak to my attorney between 3pm and 5pm PST time, I can't, as the Chicago office is closed. Legal Helpers advertises that I can reach my attorney 6 days a week. That appears to be a misrepresentation.
4. Legal Helpers is not cheaper. They are the same price as any other attorney in California, and more expensive than many of them.
I strongly recommend that Legalzoom takes Legal Helpers off your list of recommended attorneys. It looks to me like you are getting paid to list them, as they are definitely not representative of the quality and service you normally perform. They definitely bring down your reputation.
