Two young girls knocked on my door one day and claimed to be selling magazine subscriptions to earn points for a trip. I noticed they had several educational and fun magazines for kids so I ordered three magazines for my girls and a wrestling magazine for my husband even though funds were pretty tight for us.
I didnt have any money on me and payday was a few days away so they guaranteed that the checks will not be cashed until after the 15th. The checks cleared on the 16 according to my bank statements. A few months pass by and no magazines have arrived so I call Palmetto to see what is going on. The woman I talked to claimed my checks were returned for insufficent funds!
The checks hit the bank the day after payday and the bank tells me they have cleared. Oddly our bank doesnt send back the cleared checks and that bugs me. Anyway, I will be sending them a signed letter from the bank saying the checks have indeed cleared and I will demand my money back.
