I'm eating lunch with my roommates and we hear a knock on the door. One of us gets up to answer it and it't a guy about 18-20 years old selling magazines. He seems nice and cracks a few jokes to humor us, probably thinking we are more likely to buy something from him this way.
He then goes on to tell us that he needs to sell as many magazines as possible to win a free trip to cancun (not the first time they have come to our door). We say no thanks like in the past. He then says "come'on man please, the girls win every year and us guys are in the lead right now so help us out." My roommate says no thanks and shuts the door.
We leave for spring break (we are all students of the University of Delaware) about 4 days after he was at our door. We come back a week later and find 2 out of 4 of the bedroom doors have huge holes in them where someone kicked them in. The other 2 are never locked so who ever did it just walked right in.
Come to find out today, which is about a week after we got home from break, that two checks have been stolen from each room. The two checks stolen from me were written out to PMI for $220.00 each. The other six checks averaged out to about $180.00 per check. All of them written out to Palmetto Marketing, Inc. There is some number on the top of the checks which looks like a license number, but probably not a real one.
By the way who ever it was also helped himself to my credit card, 2 playstations, and an Ipod. I am guessing that it was only one person and only took what he could carry out because there was a lot more that could have been stolen.
I will check back to this site often to see if anyone has any more information on this company.
