01/16/10- I saw an advertisement online at cars.com. The vehicle being advertised was an '07 Nissan Maxima SL (Stock#90180A) with 44,791k miles for the price of $17,450. I met with Sheila Brown at Cleo Bay Honda to take the car for a test drive. I decided to proceed with car negotiations in order to purchase the car. At that point Sheila Brown asked Johnny Walker for his assistance. Once dealing with Johnny Walker I was treated in a condescending manner. He attempted to treat me as if I was an ignorant child. When negotiating the price, Johnny Walker would return to me from 'checking with his manager' laughing/chuckling (as if he were laughing AT me). He also attempted to explain the reason for his refusal to negotiate was due to the fact that "the employees need to get paid." At one point Johnny Walker stated, "My manager would be GLAD if you didn't buy this car because someone else will." After being treated so poorly I left. I went to Cleo Bay Honda's sister dealership Cleo Bay Subaru. I attempted to purchase the same vehicle at Cleo Bay Subaru because I did not want to deal with Johnny Walker or his manager any longer. Mark McGee, the general manager at Cleo Bay Subaru called Brian Hoenig, the general manager at Cleo Bay Honda to request information on the vehicle. Mark McGhee stated to me that Brian Hoenig told him Cleo Bay Honda could sell the car for more money on Monday if they wanted to. A second phone call to Brian 10 minutes later requesting the transfer of the vehicle from Cleo Bay Honda to Cleo Bay Subaru was denied due to the car being sold. However, the car was not actually sold. Cleo Bay Honda denied me the ability to purchase the car for asking price.
At this point I want nothing from Cleo Bay Honda. I will be sure to let all of my friends, family, business associates, and colleagues know to never due business with a company like Cleo Bay.
