Friday I had a call from a ncr individual, who stated i applied for a credit card in july. I told him i had no recollection of that, he said I was approved for a 2500 credit limit, all he needed was for me to tell him where I bank at and pay the 249.00 fee which he would take out of my checking account.
This guy had a foreign accent and was talking a mile a minute and I couldn't understand a word he was saying. So i asked him too please tell me this again cause i do not know what he is talking about. He said; "in 2 and half weeks u will recieve a package by express which u have to sign for between the hours of 5 and 8 pm. Once u sign for that u will have a credit card of 2500."
I said; "hold up - u want me too give u the name of my bank and say yes too this offer?" I told him, "u know i change my mind, i don't feel comfortable with u withdrawing money from my acct in which i do not have no money in my account too cover that amount."
He then says, "well we can just do this, we will send u the package as stated but u have to sign for it." I said, "and what about the 249 fee ur wanting too charge me?"
He says, "well u can pay that when u want just call me when ur ready, so i said no i don't feel comfortable in this, so i do not want ur credit card."
He then says, "Well my employees has been tryin to contact u for days with this offer, and couldn't get a hold of u."
So i said; "Well i have 3 kids and don't have alot of free time."
He then says, "3 kids, then u could really use this card, i said; "Yes but not if it means im going to be charged an amount that i have no way of covering from my checking acct, i do not have that kind of money, i do not want ur card."
So he says, "Fine i will cancel!" and then he hangs up on me. I contacted my bank today to inform them of this scam, and was told, there was nothing they can truly do unless they try to charge my acct the fee, then my bank will put a stop on it and stop them from getting any money from my acct.
I am so concerned. I never knew trying to apply for a measely credit card would put me in this position. So far nothing has been done to my acct by this indivual named Bob and HOPEFULLY IT WON'T.
So hopefully anyone who has had this conversation with this indivual will come forth and keep us tuned too this crap. Btw, i wouldn't have known about this if i hadn't been looking thru the internet for a credit card company that services people with little or bad credit.in doing so i ran across ur site, and saw where an indivual reported the foreign guy who wanted 249.00 and 2500 credit card scam.
