I received two envelopes with DVDs of an old TV movie in the mail. I had no idea why I received them. I'm still not sure.
- I googled the company who sent the DVDs, Comm Services, and found a few other people complaining that their bank account had been charged $9.95 for a DVD they never ordered. I checked my own account and found 2 separate charges of $9.95 for the DVDs.
- I called my bank and filed a complaint.
- I also called the listed phone# and was greeted by a 24/7 answering service. They promised to refund the money if I gave them the last 4-digits of my card#. I declined. They said my bank could take care of it for me. That's my plan as of now.
How did I get roped into this mess? I'm not sure. On the days of the Comm Services charges there are no similar other charges, so I don't think it came from forgetting to opt-out of the offer during some online purchase. Any ideas?
