Own MS XP Home Edition for over 6 years on HP with partitioned disks. Tried to purchase disk for my owned product but no one would sell me one, Microsoft, HP. Bought MS Vista Ultimate upgrade at Sam's in November 08, tried to install using XP key but had problems, called Microsoft (have support #), I explained, they fixed it over the net so that I could install the upgrade and said it was OK now. My hard drive went bad, got a new one, tried to install, same problem. Called Microsoft, told me I had to have a disk to upgrade, did not care what was done before, refused to give me to supervisor, hung up, I tried calling back, it just rings and rings? Can they figure out the number I called and set their system to not answer?
They should have told me this in November and I would have gladly returned the product and did whatever I needed differently. But now I have paid for the upgrade, cannot return it, I cannot use it as is, I'm screwed.
