I would like to say in my opinion the representation I received from Rigo Tirado and Gene Rivera was anything but! They allowed four people including my self that picked up and moved across country from NJ, PA and MS to CA have their jobs taken away from them and did nothing but stand by and watch. This is the weakest Union representation I have ever come across and I am a 13 year teamster from UPS local 177 and very proud of it. But these two from local 495 are a disgrace. They allowed us to be abused and did nothing. They are why many American people dislike unions. They allowed nepotism and favoritism to go unchallenged. I feel that the International should take a good luck at this local and its leadership. The contract that we worked under was very vague, compared to the contract we had in Mt Olive NJ this was a joke. The worse part of that is that they had a copy of the Mt Olive contract to use during the Negotiations and obviously decided not to read it!!! In my opinion if you are part of local 495 all you do is donate your hard earned money to the union so they can live better at mine and your expense, unless of course you are friends of theirs, then you are also well taken care of..
