The Attorney General's office investigated individuals belonging to an interest group on Yahoo called the Candyman Group. People can go to http://groups. Yahoo.com and see a list of interest groups. While at that web site a person can see a description of each group. The Candyman Group had a description listing "for those interested in kids".
If you had an interest in kids' things like many parents do, you could join this group at its web page. Here is the important part. *While joining any Yahoo group a person can choose whether they want the messages posted to the group emailed to their email address or they can choose whether they want to just go to the web page and view the messages posted.*
Some people joined the group only to later find out that some of the messages posted contained pictures of child pornography. Some people had no interest in child pornagraphy and unsubscribed to this group.
The Attorney General's office, which is under the direction of John Ashcroft, prosecuted people even though they unsubscribed from this group. The Attorney General's office also prosecuted people who did *not* choose to have the messages (some containing child pornography) sent to their email.
Before this action could be corrected, innocent people were branded as traders in child pornography.innocent people had their names and the names of their families put in the public as being investigated for child pornography.innocent people were hurt!
Not only that, but some of the guilty people were let go because it could not be proven that they selected to have the email messages sent to their email address and therefore could not provide a link to their possession of pornography.
John Ashcroft, in his fervor to capture people who trafficked in child pornography investigated many innocent people and let many guilty people go due to searching their home without sufficient probably cause.
A person who hurts innocent people while overseeing such a blatant legal blunder should be removed from office to prevent such gross misconduct of justice from ever happening again.
Those who believe in Karma or those who believe in God will believe John Ashcroft has hurt innocent people and will have to face Karma or God in this life or in the next.
