I was a truck driver with this company. BIG MISTAKE!!! They are in trouble with MSHA, ATF, D.O.T. Among others.
Each Friday, (payday) all of the employees checks bounce. Their own bank will no longer cash them, you have to go to the grocery store and pay them $5.00 to get it cashed. For a supposed million dollar a year company, you'd think they'd have the money to meet payroll. Nobody in town will do business with them anymore because they have bounced checks all over town. (Reportedly, one for almost $40,000.00)
The trucks the operate are rolling death traps. If you ever see a big white boom truck with Oneonta Stone on the side, get out of the way because chances are it won't be able to stopp with faulty brakes.
They told the unemployment office that I never reported any repairs needed. Little do they know, I have carbon copies of Vehicle Inspection Reports that I turned in to them daily as required by Federal Law. Not to mention D.O.T. Compaint forms that I filed with the State of Alabama.
If you are in the area and plan to buy stone, DO NOT BUY IT FROM THESE PEOPLE!!! Your best bet is to find a property owner that has stone on his property and work a deal with them. Why pay Oneonta Stone $100.00 or more a ton for stone that they pay $6.00-$10.00 a ton for. If you can not find a property owner, let me know and I will be glad to let you know of some.
One other thing, They people found out the hard way that it's a no-no to blast dynomite without a license. Lol!!!
