I purchased what turned out to be a defective weight scale from this company. I paid $10.99 for the shippping on this item. Upon contacting customer service about returning this item, I was given an RA number, but the RA did not include pre-paid shipping back to the "AsSeenOnTVGuys" company. I paid $19.80 in return shipping charges (with tracking and insurance) from a "UPS" store. My refund for this item was deducted an ADITIONAL $10.99 for "Shipping" when my refund was processed. Upon asking to be credited with the $10.99 since I had paid for shipping back to the company, I was told a "previous e-mail" to me from the Company had stated that I would be charged shipping for the returned item.
My concern is that this Company regularly ships defective items and ends up making a profit from the return shipping charges they deduct from customers returns since they do NOT include pre paid shipping in their RA. Basically the customer ends up paying for shipping back to the company, ends up empty-handed, AND has their refund reduced for "shipping", while the Company makes a profit on these shipping charges. Pretty clever.
