As a college student from Hawaii, I was looking for great deals for a place to live. So I happened to find the College Park apartments on riverside. When I moved in things were broken and dirty, but they said they would fix it. They sent a repair man to fix several items but it kept breaking. Our room was falling apart.
In January of this year they told everyone to sign a new lease or they would not have a place in the fall. Considering my lease will not be up til Aug. I didn't know what to do. I called the manager of the apartment to see if I could get out of the new lease that was signed due to unlivable conditions, and she said that the issues I stated were not good enough to get out of a contract. Our AC is broken, the shower still has mold on them, the washer and dryer is broken, the garbage disposal breaks every week. I feel as though I got ripped off.
My roomates have found a new place to live but I am having a problem with breaking my lease. I need to find a place before school starts so I can get settled down. These people are unethical and I deserve to get out of my lease without being held to any contract.
