We purchased a puppy from Hurley Puppy Patch on 8/4/09 with a Health Certificate and a negative fecal check on 7/31. We brought her to our vet the next morning because we noticed blood in her stool!
The vet stated that the puppy was very lathargic, underweight, emaciated, full of parasites and very sick, she was placed on medication for 3wks.
We had to bring her back for re-checks because she was not getting any better she had actually lost more weight we were told to continue monitoring her and bring her back if needed.
Hurley puppy patch was contacted within 48hrs as stated on the contract to let her no that she had sold us a sick puppy and we wanted to be reimbursed $141.62 in vet expenses. She asked for a copy of the receipt with diagnosis which was provided to her and she mailed us a check for $42.00.
The puppy was brought back after completing 3wks of medication and her fecal then showed hookworms and roundworms which those she got from her mom. The reason they did not show up initially was due to the amount of parasites she had the worms could not thrive. Again she was placed on medication for another 3wks.
Hurley puppy patch was scontacted again with the newest findings and at that point we requested a refund for the puppy along with all expenses to date and again she requested the new receipts and our request to be in writing which was done on 8/28.
I also contacted the vet that signed the health certificate and he feels that the fecal that was brought in on 7/31 by Ms. Hurley did not belong to the puppies in question. Two of the puppies required antibiotics and she declined stating that she would take care of it herself. She has since been dismissed from his practice due to her misrepresentation.
Lee county Animal Control was contacted and a complaint was filed by myself and I was informed that they were out to her house in may on a similar complaint and she was cited. An officer did go to her home with my complaint but there were no findings the dogs had food and water and were up to date on there shots. She was surprised at taht due to the conditions of everything else. She also stated that there were 10 dogs there and no puppies which I found interesting because she told my husband and my self that she has 21 dogs and she also just had a litter of doberman pinchers born on 8/25 and ther were still some weimaraner puppies left from the litter we purchased from so now the question is where were they?
I have tried contacting Miranda Hurley about the letter that was snet to her on 8/28 the only person I have spoken to was her husband who state dthat they were not going to reimburse me for anything and we could proceed with whatever we thought was necessary.
Miranda and Hurley Puppy Patch are backyard breeders who misrepresent there company and knowingly sell sick dogs!!!
