HSBC/Bestbuy protection plan fraud - ripoff

I noticed while paying double payments for a couple of years that my balance was not dropping that much. I phoned bestbuy customer support, for them to tell me that I had signed up for a protection plan and they had been billing me monthly since March. I told them that I did not sign up for anything and they told me that they would have to investigate it and would mail me something within 90 days.
Almost 90 days later I get a letter stating that they indeed could NOT prove my enrollment in this plan and that they were going to refund me for the last 90 days... Yes... 90 days... What happened to the other 4 years???!!
I called HSBC to dicuss this and they told me that since it had been over 3 years that is all they could do. If I wanted to dispute the settlement I could write a letter to the address provided on the letter and see what happens then.
This is totally unethical and fraudulant on their part as they now owe me over $1000.00 dollars in charges that I did NOT authorize.
Have any of you been through this? If so, is there anything that I can do to get my money back? The bad part is my 0% interest deal is up next month and should have been payed off, but due to their unauthorized charges, I still have an outstanding balance. I need help in this situation, as I have already called my attorney and am waiting on his call back to discuss.
Any input is appreciated.
Thanks.
