I was called for an interview by a Miss Sofia at Empire Promotional Events in Secaucus. She said to me that after going through my resume, the company is calling me for an interviiew the next day for customer service and administrative positions (note, the word positions has been used in plural). Then Miss Sofia asked me if I were looking for part time or full time position. I told her, full time. She said that she would email me the address to Empire Promotional Events. The next day I started out one hour earlier because I was going to Secaucus from Woodbridge. The G.P.S. Would only take me to the Meadowlands Parkway. The number, 600 Meadowlands Parkway, as the address said, was not in the G.P.S. System. I called at the interview office for directions and let them know that obviously I would be late since I was lost trying to reach the location of the interview. I was told, that was not a problem. After almost two hours of driving around asking for directions again, and again from a Miss Sofia and the H.R. Manager Miss Ricky or Vicky, I finally reached the office of Empire Promotional Events in Secaucus. I was called for an "interview", as it was called, by a Miss Darlene.in two seconds after she brought me to her office she was showing me the door to leave saying that candidates with only managerial experience were being considered, they had already interviewed thirty five candidates whereas only five candidates were needed. Since I did not have managerial experience, I should not expect to be called for the second interview. After I left that office in complete shock I called for the manager of the business. Miss Vicky said she was the H. R manager. I asked Vicky that I was called for interview by Sofia because she claimed the company is hiring for administrative and customer service positions. I did not apply for a managerial position, neither was I called for a manegerial position. I was called for Customer Service position. While I paid for the fuel and the toll to reach there after an extensive two hour search I was told that only candidates with managerial position were being considered. Vicky claimed that in two hours that I was late the customer service positions had alreay filled out, and now only the manegerial positions were being considered.in all honesty, does anyone in the justice system believe that? This is plain manipulation, dishonesty, misleading, without the least regard for someone's time and money in a time of recesion and unemployment like this. I am being called for an interview for positions that are not even available, and I am being shown the door out after the so called 'interview", for a position that I did not even apply for, nor was I called for. While I was lost trying to find my way to the interview office I am bieng told it is not a problem if I am late. I could have been told the position I was called for, has, or have, already filled out.in all honesty, how can the hiring decesions have been made without interviewing all the candidates who have been called for interview. It was not even noon yet, and the decesion to hire candidates for customer service positions has already been made without even interviewing the candidated who have been called for interviews.in my fifteen years of work experience I have never seen something as awkward, unethical and fraudulant like this. The company is a scam. I was expecting a business that promotes services and events to generate revenue for non profit and profitable organisations. A mention of charity event for a school was made when I was called for interview by Sofia. That is not what they do. They sell office supplies by hiring people to market in door to door campaigns. I don't believe they had any customer service or administrative positions. To call people for interview and then to show them the door out for a position that they did not even applly for, nor called for, is dishonest, obnoxious, fraudulent.
