1 Call Legal/1 Call MD
My husband and I were totally unaware the we were being ripped off by this 1 Call Legal/MD. They never even called us with an offer like I've read about in other cases. They just took our money

I was looking at my bank account one day online and noticed some unusual charges. I called the 1-866 number that was on the transaction that posted to my account and ended up spending a 1/2 hour on the phone with a customer sales person that was no help at all.
I explained to the lady on the phone my name and that I had some charges to my bank account that I didn't authorize and that I wanted to know the name and nature of their business and how they got my information. They first told me that they couldn't give me any information over the phone unless I had an account with them. So I gave her my name, address, and phone number. She tells me that I don't have an account with them and she can't give me any information about their company.
I argue with lady on the phone that if they are taking money from my account then I have a right to know what they do and who they are. She wanted me to give her my credit card number and I told her no that they already had it and were charging my account. She told me that she couldn't help me if I didn't have an account. I told her what I thought about that. If I don't have an account how can you charge me for services then. After a 1/2 hour of going back and forth and finally getting the name of the company from the lady she said she was going to transfer me to the main office.
I got a voicemail with no business name, name or number, I left a message explaining the situation and haven't heard from them. This was 8/26/09. I called my bank immediately and filed disputes on 7 different charges from this company.
Turns out it was my husbands debit card that had been used wrongly. His card has never been used online or over the phone. He authorized when he got it and has never used it since he has another account for his expenses. So how does a company like this 1 Call Legal/MD get a hold of a card number that has never been used??? We never answered any phone calls on any offers, we don't answer the phone for 1-800 numbers. So how did this happen to us??? We are now disputing to get $150 back from this company.
