I received a call from Centurion stating that I had been approved for a credit card with $2000 credit limit. I asked about fees and was told that there were no fees except for a $249 processing fee that could not be charged to the new card but had to be paid for from a checking account. I stated that I never applied for a credit card and could they send me information in the mail as it was all sounding a little strange. No, they could not do that but could connect me to customer service and they could verify that it truly was a MasterCard. I declined. About 10 minutes after hanging up, I received another call but this time my caller ID did not have a number. It was the same woman, saying she was responding to my application for credit for a home equity loan. I do not own a home and told her not to call me. I recently applied for a car loan on line and think that is where my information may have come from.
