Isn't Macomb County Friend of the Court great? One day I have to go in there for a hearing to have my child support reduced. I have my wife with me as my name is called. As we are walking to the door to go into the back conference rooms, the FOC employee, Amanda Kole, puts out a stiff arm to my wife and says "just him". So I go into the back and am escorted into Ms. Kole's office. I have a smile on my face, trying to be pleasant. Before I even sit down, Ms Kole snidely says, "I don't know what you think I am going to do for you, your child support is already about as low as it can get." So I can see where this is going.
So she goes to sit down, and asks me to give her my paperwork. I pull my chair a few inches closer to her desk and she snaps at me, "don't move your chair any closer." So now I'm thinking, this is clearly a woman who was abused as a little girl. I provide her with my pay stubs. At the time, I wasn't working a whole lot. I was an executive loan officer with a company but when the mortgage crisis hit, my commissions dropped to basically nothing. She say to me, "How come you want your child support reduced?" I begin to respond, "well, the mortgage business is hurting and..." She cuts me off.
"How come your not working here any more?" she rudely asked. "There is no business out there and I..." she cuts me off again. "It says here that you made $xxxx in " again with the real nasty tone. "Yes, I was making good money when the market was..." she cuts me off again. "How come you're not making this much money any more?"
At this point, I feel like I'm talking to a retard. So I snap back at here, "What part of 'I'm not making that much money' don't you understand." Of course, now I've done it, I've offended her. So she stands up and says, "This interview is over." Big surprise there. It was over before I even walked in the room.
But as I'm leaving with her holding the door open, she steps in front of me. I had to come to a screetching hault at this point. So she starts yelling at the top of her lungs, "I need a bailiff... Bailiff, Bailiff... Don't you go anywhere."
So I leave the office and out of the building. About 5-10 mkinutes later, I get a call on my cell phone from a bailiff saying that I assaulted her. I denied it, as it wasn't true.
About two weeks later, my ex-wife informs me that her sister-in-law knows Amanda Kole as they lived in the same neighborhood. She was basically gloating and telling me that I didn't stand a chance from the minute I filed the motion. You have to love the corruptness of American politics.
Needless to say, my child support didn't get adjusted. They claimed that I never provided them with W-2's which I did. I guess that was the best Ms. Kole could come up with since her assault charge was dismissed.
