In July of I purchased five Ramsond Elite generators from the Ramsond Corporation with my Credit Card. All of these units were
bought and resold to established customers of my Solar Energy company,
Solarman. The generators were used to recharge solar batteries using
battery chargers that do not exceed 14 amps ac @120 volts. Each
generator displayed problems within the first 10 hours of use. Each of
these generators was repaired repeatedly by our qualified in-house
technician. Our technician put in 104 hours of housecall repairs and
drove his service vehicle 490 miles in an attempt to keep these five
generators alive. Ramsond was repeatedly notified of all these
problems and the only remedy I have been offered is a long trail of
slow moving parts. On March 16 I sent a certified letter to the
Ramsond Corporation in a attempt to revoke acceptance of these goods
and return them. Ramson made no response to my demans. Ramsond
generators irreparably harmed the reputation of my company. All five
customers had long standing accounts that go back for years. These
customers are all in off-grid dwellings and these repeated power
failures disrupted their lives. Each has demanded and received a full
refund from my company. These were valuable clients who all have
repeatedly bought goods and services from my company and now these
trusting relationships that took years to nurture have been incurably
damaged. Now all I have left from my Ramsond dealings is a generator
junkyard in the back of my house. Every Generator is not broken beyond
practical repair. The lack of workmanship in these Ramsond generators
is extraordinary. They never had a chance to wear anything out because
they began breaking right away. All sales of goods in Michigan by
merchants are accompanied by an "implied warranty of merchantability."
This is the concept that the goods you are buying will be fit for
their ordinary purposes. These generators were not fit for their
ordinary purpose. Three of the generators developed various problems
before they even had 5 hours on them. Obvious defects like leaky fuel
valves, leaky hoses, lose bolts, AVR falling off, foreign objects in
fuel system. All generators had severe problems with voltage1 and
frequency2 drop under light loads (10 amps). This list goes on. The
units were all defective when I got them. They all failed to perform
as new generators. Two of the generators actually caught on fire from
burning electrical wires; two customers had expensive ($2000)
invertors that were destroyed because there was voltage between the
neutral and the ground on the generators. No Neutral/ground bond. When
I did internet research on these generators I find the same exact
generator sold under at least five different brand names. They are all
based upon the same china made product with different paint jobs.
These generators are a horrible disgrace and a danger to the public.
All of my dealings with this company have been hostile. They appear to
have wanted to place the blame on me for the failure of their
products
