Everything that you have read about Sharkey transport is true, 1st they hold two weeks of your check they do give you 300.00 at completion of orentation but if you quit you have to pay that back, the week you will get a check for 500.00 of sign on bonus and the miles you ran on your 1st week the 500.00 has to be paid back if you quit in the 1st 120 days the next week you will get 500.00 sign on bonus again if you quit you will have to pay it back. They hold your first two weeks so when you quit you are screwed out of@ 1500.00
Out of 6 of us how started for orentation two of us made it thru some for medical some for job from the past one quit before he started.
No toll roads in Il you will have to run 2 lane roads @ 40 extra miles plus what you give up for house hold movers guide, Shop time at Quincy is on average 4 hours no matter what for all repairs and services are done at Quicny. Trucks are worn out Macs 6000000 miles.
I have sit for up to 30 hours waiting on a load not a truck stop at General Mills drop lot. The Fleet managers are okay but ahve no control over where y go or what load, the night supervisor is a true jerk wanted to teach him some manners but decided that decretion was better than jail time.
I worked for Sharkey for a total of 8 weeks before I could not take it any more, Yes i lost my last two weeks pay but it comes to a time to cut your lose and go/
Now there are a few thing you need to know, they did get me home every weekend as late as Saturday night 34 hour reset and off again for Monday delivery and then sit at either Galesburg, Hannibal, Geneva, Woodridge. Or one of the other many General Mills. If you get stuck with a Hannibal MO, or a Galesburg IL YOU WILL SIT!!
No Vacation No holiday and the insurance is a joke, they have self insurance it cost you nothing for you and family members but it is worth less and if your spouse works they force you to take her insurance 1st and then theres. Prescrip cards you pay 50 % or 50.00 which ever is higher. So a scrip for 200 would cost you 100.
I wish I could have the last 8 weeks of my life back I cant but at least I might be able to save someone else the heart aches.
Oh by the way there trucks are cut to 60 by foot feed and 63 by cruise unless you idle your truck to stay warm or cool if your idle gets to high then your truck will be cut back to 59 go daddy go.
