I have worked for Sharkey Transportation for a year and a half. I have resigned. I was on the $1,000 a week guarantee. They have done away with the guarantee as of the begining of the year.
They say you will leave out Monday morning and be back Saturday afternoon. But, they have a tendancy to keep you out till Sunday night. Thats actually 6 1/2 days. I picked up a load for them Monday morning in Hannibal, Mo going to Chattanooga, TN due on Wendsday @ 14:30. Monday after I picked up the load, i sent them an eta of Tuesday @ 10:00. But, due to traffic Tuesday @ 08:00 sent a revised eta of 14:00. Still a day early. The load was delivered on Tuesday @ 13:30. Sharkey said load was late and permanetly took me off the guarantee pay.
In the last year in a half there, my average milage for the week was only 2,000 miles. At their milage rate that equals a 40 % pay cut. I have been driving over the road for ten years with no accidents or violations. And this is how they treat a safe driver.
Before they took me off the guarantee I asked to be home on a Friday instead of Saturday night. Altough, I ran that week making them money. I recieved a bill from them charging me $ 125 for using their truck.
I would recomend drivers to stay away from this sham artist.
