Allied Barton Security - Dennis Bennett
Ripoff

I was a Assistant Secrity Supervisor for Allied Barton Security from February 24 till July 12 at National Starch Food Innovations. (I was previously a Security Supervisor for Spartan Security from February 28 till February 24 at National Starch. I worked security at the National Starch site since September 25 for three different security companies.)

During the week of July 3rd of I was running the security site while the Account Manager was on vacation. The security account at National Starch has a weekly hourly budget of 769 hours.

A good staff will consist of 22 employees although Allied wants no more than 21 employees. (Sixteen full time employees and six part time employees) This particular week from July 3 till July 10 I had a crew of 17 employees which includes myself. (Account Manager on vacation, a employee who's name is Virginia was in the hospital and two employess short and this has been occuring since the first week of June. The District Manager (Dennis Bennett) did not do anything to help get any new employees to help us out.

The problem started on July 8 when a employee told me that Virginia called and said she might not be in on Monday July 10. I then called another employee (Carl) and see if he can come in on Monday and he said yes. I called Virginia and told her she can take Monday off to rest herself, and she said she can come in to work on Monday. I than told my co-worker to pick up the phone to hear the conservation. I had Virginia to repeat herself, and again she said to my co-worker and I she can come in on Monday at 8 A.M. I told her if she cannot come in on Monday to give me a call Sunday evening (July 9) and she said O.K.

I was working Sunday evening and she did not call. I called Carl and told him that Virginia was coming in to work on Monday and just in case if she dose not show up you will be on stand-by. Carl said he might not be able to do it, I told him to do your best if this happens.

On Monday July 10, I came in at 7:40 A.M. After leaving at midnight on July 9 (I got 4.5 hours of sleep that night) and as of 8 A.M. Virginia did not show up. I called Virginia at 8:15 A.M. And she told me she was not coming in. I told her she was going to be a no call no show and you might lose your job since you told me Saturday night you will be in. She then hang up the phone.

I then called Carl to see if he come in and Carl said no. I only had one other person to contact (Due to the lack of employees) and he cannot come in. I was in a major jam and the guard (Robin) that was staying over due to Virginia's no call no show has a baby sitter job and she has at her other job by 10:00 A.M. One of Allied Barton's policy is they want a full crew at the site at all times.

And I could not get anybody in due to the shortness of help, I told Robin that the only other way she can leave without possibly losing her job is to contact a employee (Patricia) who is on Social Security and is almost maxed out on her hours for the year. Robin told me to call her.

I called Patricia and ask her if she come in for five hours, and she said yes but she cannot sign in. I told Robin Patricia cannot sign in and you will have to give her some money for her time in. She said she'll do it.

At eleven A.M. Patricia arrived and Robin gave
Patricia $50.00 for her help. I did tell Robin to write out at 4 P.M.instead of eleven A.M. To keep the payroll hours correct.

(The only other option was Robin leaving at ten A.M. Be one person short for five hours, National Starch will not be happy about this (safety director was in guardhouse several times on Monday July 10 and to me was good news to Allied Barton since we had a full crew in) and Robin will risk losing her job and possibly myself as well.)

On Wednesday July 12 Dennis Bennett Allied Barton District Manager called and told me I was suspended until further notice, and Mr. Bennett was going to call me on Thursday to discuss the situation on Thursday July 13.

Mr. Bennett did not call me on July 13. On July 14, I called Allied's office and the receptionist told me Mr. Bennett was not in the office. I told her to have him call me. He did not return my phone call. On Wednesday July 19 I call Allied's office and the receiptionist told me Mr. Bennett was in Grand Rapids, Michigan and he will not return until Monday July 24.

On Monday July 24 I called Allied's office and once again the receiptionist said Mr. Bennett was not in. I told her to have Mr. Bennett to give me a call and I gave her my phone number. Mr. Bennett did not return my call. On Wednesday July 26 I called Allied's office and once again Mr. Bennett was not in the office. On Tuesday August 1 I called Allied's office and Mr. Bennett was once again not in his office. I again told the receiptionist to make sure to have Mr. Bennett to give me a call (and I again gave her my phone number) and Mr. Bennett did not return my call.

Finally on Wednesday August 9 I called Allied's office and the receiptionist told me Mr. Bennett was not in his office. Later that day my mother called Allied's office and Mr. Bennett was not in the office. My mother asked her if Mr. Bennett is ever in his office and why is he not returning my phone calls and the receiptionist was very rude to my mother, and will not say why he did not return my calls. As of today Mr. Bennett has yet to call me which is very rude of him to do since I have been out of work for a month. At this time I still don't know if I am employeed or not.

This iccident would not have happened if Virginia would have showed up like she was suppose to. And she was not suspended at all which to me is discrimination on Dennis Bennett's part.

On a non related subject I was on a two week vacation, and I was suppose to be paid for ten vacation days, and Dennis Bennett only gave me nine days pay which is not right.

Several of my old Spartan Security guards told me that they ask Dennis Bennett some questions about Allied Barton Security and was very rude to them and one guard told me that Dennis Bennett was going to let everybody that worked for Spartan Security go one by one. So far Dennis Bennett has let six ex-Spartan employees go. Five of them for no reason at all. That is favortisom.
Thank you and have a great one.
