I am the newest Annex Marketing sucker. I can safely say it's my fault I should have known better. I tell people every day people don't just come to you and offer you a job you have to go and look for one. But these people came to me offering me a job in something I never even had an interest in doing. I was a food server my whole life I did nothing in the marketing field.
I start off getting an e-mail in my junk mail box that the received my resume and would like to interview me for marketing for a fortune 500 company. I go in the next day for an interview I want to say similar to the other reports on this website but it's exactly the same, times and everything. I get accepted to go to the next interview process the 8 hour ride along with the "assistant manager" i put this in quotes because he's not he does the same thing everyone else does. I get back to the office later and then have my follow up interview, by the receptionist. (red flag number 2) I get called later that night from the person I went on the ride along with and get offered a job. I show up on Monday morning with my notebook ready to take notes and learn about the business and what there all about. You are told to show up at 8:45 on the first day but then are also informed that all the most successful people in the business show up early for "concentrated learning, " which happens to be some ass hole who started working there 2 weeks before you telling you about all of these ways to talk people in to getting office supplies they don't need or want.
Then around 9 am all of the "leaders" come out of Vanessa's office and the cult rituals begin. They start their stations of brain washing. At about this time they bring the new people who are hired just as they did to me a few days before the manager introduces them the same way word for word every single day. "We have a new person to introduce *, it's a tradition to embarrass you a little bit Tell us where your from and one interesting thing about you. (pause for intro.) Welcome about were a little unconventional but I'm sure you'll fit right in." Then goes the daily brain washing from Vanessa.
While in training I was asked to go on a business trip. (red flag number 3) I hadn't even been there a week. I tell them no and come back the next day where someone else tries to pressure me in to going on this business trip. Supposedly 1 week on a business trip is like 3 weeks in the office? So by my calculations that's 3 times the money except I'm in training so 3 times nothing is still nothing. I still don't go and to my surprise the new people who go on the business trip don't come back the next week.
So I quickly get out of training and become a solo. I never understood why the made a leader walk you out to your car until now they don't want you to talk to other solos about what they are experiencing. I am pressured every day to go to 40 doors and get 8 Applications in a 5 day period to make leadership as quickly as possible. When ever I have asked what all the leaders do in the back office in the morning I am told " make 1500 dollars in sales in 5 days and you'll find out." Get Serious!
I was hired with the understanding that I would go through training, once I closed a client I would get the commission split with me and then I would get my own territory. I never got the commission. I never got the so called "training" bonus promised to me.in fact I worked there for 4 weeks used up all my gas day after day. My paycheck I received was $20.67. I was so mad I knew all my time away from my family was worth way more then that. Besides I spent a good $200 in gas alone.
I was sent out to an area of town where I was expected to go and convince people they needed all of these office supplies and once they told me no I needed to go back 3 times because they weren't telling me no. They were telling me KNOW as in they don't know why? BOTTOM LINE THIS COMPANY HAS WASTED A MONTH OF MY LIFE! And I advise people if they get a call or an email from these people wanting to interview you don't waste your time.
