The individual that runs Denver Patient Caregivers Cooperative, John C. Yates, is "a wolf in sheeps clothing". He claims to want to help patients with their pain, but in reality he is out to make a quick dollar. There is a fee to become a "member" with promises of growing & legal classes and much more. Nothing like that was made available. The card also states that members must be legal to receive "meds" from his co-op, patients and non patients alike were allowed to purchase products. It was a dirty, unsanitary place. Each time I entered the building, there was always someone smoking a joint or offering a hit off of a pipe. It seemed more like a hangout, a place to go and get high. It was a very uncomfortable experience.
The business card for the co-op states "We are working extremely hard at meeting the highest standards and intent of Colorado state laws". Yet patient paperwork could be found on the floor, left on a desk or thrown in the garbage and not shredded. Even if the paperwork was in a folder it was still stored in an unsecure place.
He tries and convince people to give of time or their money to help the co-op grow. I know of more than one person who has given time/money and has been stolen from. Money never paid back, plants stolen from people. He has accused the people he has stolen from of stealing from him. He does not know that people are talking to each other and finding out the truth.
John C. Yates, needs to be investigated and stopped before more people are taken advantage of.
