Martin Thompson is a very talented opera singer. He performs in Europe and the US and is quite well known in the opera community. He also has a family back in Oregon.
His ex wife is battling MS disease and has no ability to work. She is on two canes and cannot afford her medication anymore because of state budget cuts. The real shame is the Martin Thompson earns a wonderful living as an international opera singer. He currently owes his wife and three children over $85,000 in back child and spousal support.
He travels often and gets paid in cash throughout Europe so attaching wages is impossible.
His kids are wonderful and talented. His ex wife is very ill and needs every penny. They will soon lose their home and nobody knows what will happen after that.
Some members of the community in West Linn are helping the family as best they can. The real hope is that Marty Thompson will pay what he owes this wonderful family he left.
He is married again and has a small child. We all wish him the best and respect his talents. We also are ashamed of him and feel angry that he has abandoned his former wife and children financially.
