We have a vacant home and were forced out of state for a job transfer so our realtor introduced us to his 'wife's business'. Here is what we signed up for— "Exquisite Home Tending will monitor your home and ensure it's cosmetic as well as general care while our hometenders occupy the property. EHT's hometenders will absorb all minor repairs, landscaping, snow removal, pest control, and pool maintainence." This quote is taken directly from their web-site. However this was NOT the service that was provided to us.
Instead a young person was moved into our home with less than "model home" furniture. Our yard was not taken care of. Several rules were broken such as a pet was allowed to live on our property as well as smoking with cigarette butts all over the garage and drive way. The puppy dug holes, strung garbage all over the yard, chewed the siding, and pee'd in the house.
When dealing with EHT, we were constantly verbally abused as well as threatened in almost every e-mail, text and phone conversation. Now tell me this is professional? Has 'making a buck' stooped that low? I can understand if a person has a personality conflict with me (that can happen) but to be so un-professional, abusive, threatening, demeaning as well as demanding is uncalled for.
The contract EHT has written pretty much releases them from any damage done to our property. Therefore if you want to sue anyone for damages you must go after the 'home tender' who is supposed to supply EHT with a copy of their Liability Insurance. Which of course-you don't see.
EHT has comitted fraud!!! Unfortunately we supplied a dwelling in order for EHT to make income. (can't be called rent). A FREE service to us the home owner, but not free in the end. It will cost us hundreds if not thousands to repair the house back to it's existing shape when we hired them.
To put the frosting on the cake, EHT told the home tender to turn on the sprinkle system... in April. This is nearly 6-8 weeks before we normally do this. Due to negligence the water valve was broken and the water was never turned off.in the meantime 5 gallons per minute had been flowing through the property. So who pays for this? We were told by our realtor, yes realtor not EHT that a certain part of the grass was not getting watered. Once we called the water dept and found out how much the water bill was we knew there was more than a broken sprinkler head.
So day after day we contacted EHT, even our handyman called to ask for permission to enter the property. EHT told him—I want nothing to do with those who know the home owner. So we called the realtor (because he is married to the the owner of EHT) and he put us off. 3 days later we were able to have the city shut the sprinkler system off for us. 178,000 gallons were dispersed on our property w/in 7 days!!!
Our house is vacant again, but it didn't come easy. EHT fought us every step of the way. Making excuses. To this day we still don't have our garage door opener or the keys. PLUS the home tender stole at least 5 items from our property and EHT has not provided us with proof of Liability Ins. Or a forwarding address to send the water bill to.

I'm sorry this is a crock of b.S. I hired EHT to professionally stage my home and help sell it. We have heard from other realtors their client was turned off. I might of been better off leaving it vacant. I know I would of been better off. I'd have less drama, less out of pocket expense as well as less heartache.
Thanks but no Thanks EHT... Oh did I mention I will be sued if I tell my story??
