Cricket Wireless - PayGo Fraud

RE: Cricket Wireless Consumer Fraud

In regard to the Cricket PayGo plan, a pay as-you-go phone plan, unlimited talk minutes for one dollar ($1) per day used. The plan is supposed to only charge one dollar ($1) per day the phone is used, unlimited minutes on the day the phone is used.

Cricket representatives (both: in store and over phone, 800 phone rep) repeatedly claim that the Cricket PayGo program does not charge for unanswered incoming calls.

The deal' is that you are only supposed to be charged for the days that you 1) make an outgoing call, 2) accept an incoming call, or 3) check the voicemail box for messages left (regardless if you check from a landline or the cell phone).

I know for a fact that Cricket charges for unanswered incoming calls.

If someone calls and leaves a message, and I don't answer the call or check the message left, cricket charges one dollar ($1) for that day, as if I accepted an incoming call.

I have repeatedly called the 800 number and spoke in person with many Cricket representatives, and they swear that Cricket does not charge for unanswered incoming calls.

I have gone to two (2) Cricket-corporate owned stores, and well as one (1) exclusive Cricket dealer and one (1) authorized Cricket dealer; and all of the sales representatives from all of the stores have vowed to me that Cricket does not charge for unanswered incoming calls, on their PayGo plan.

I know for a fact that Cricket DOES charge for unanswered incoming calls.

I know because I have a new Cricket PayGo phone which I have activated. I have not given the phone number out to my friends or family yet. Every day I receive many wrong number' phone calls, (at least three or four per day). I never answer the phone because I do not recognize the phone number; yet every time that someone calls and leaves a message, even though I do not accept the call or check the message left, I am deducted one dollar from my account for that day.

When I speak to the Cricket billing department, to dispute the false charges, they claim that I have accepted and completed a call on that day. They tell me that I actually made an outgoing call, which is completely wrong when I go to the store and I prove to them that my Cricket PayGo is being falsely charged, they tell me that there is nothing that they can do.

The bottom line is that the Cricket Corporation, the Cricket-corporate owned dealers and the indirect authorized dealers are making false statements about the Cricket PayGo plan. When I try to rectify my problem, over the phone or in person, I am given the run-around, or I am hung-up on.

Cricket Wireless is lying to the consumer, misrepresenting their products and services, and failing to recognize that I am being mischarged. I believe that this is a deliberate attempt to lie, cheat and steal, and this is a fundamental part of the Cricket business plan.

Please look into the Cricket wireless PayGo plan and please let other consumers know of all of the fraudulent claims made by Cricket corp, Cricket salesmen and Cricket authorized dealers, so that other people will not be ripped off by Cricket wireless.

I have filed a complaint with the BBB and filed a complaint with Illinois State Attorney, but I know how long it takes for them to get things done.
