Allen's Moves Are Us - Moves Are Us Movers
Damage to my property & to my person

I am sixty-eight years and this is the most disgusting, dishonest, horrible experience.in a local move, only about ten miles involved, the two movers bent my mattress and damaged it. They acknowledge the fact that they bent the mattress but deny this has damaged it.initially I did not confront the owner for did not wish experience what I knew [based on my decades of knowledge of lacks-of-integrity when it comes to money on the part of too many businesses] would happen: denial of responsibility. But then it got far worse. About six weeks after this I had terrible itching and bites on my back and right arm. I thought it was spiders. I put out gluetraps but did not catch many spiders. Then my pharmacist said it was bed bugs. I actually bought a sleeping bag and slept on the carpet downstairs but still was getting bit. So I then slept on the kitchen floor in the sleeping bag. As I am sixty-eight this sleeping on the floor was not good for my back and knees. But even on the floor I got bit and it was on my face, my belly, and my thighs and back of my knees. So that I eventually returned upstairs to the bed/bedroom and I called the mattress company. They thought maybe I was having an allergic reaction to fungus from a tree outside. I had a tree specialist look at this tree and was told it was fine. But I was told maybe I had poison ivy/oak. All this was costing $ for I bought gluetraps and internet stuff for assumed spider bites; then the sleeping bag and Febreze for assumed fungus/mold; then poison ivy soap and other stuff for the assumed poison ivy/oak. Finally I went to the doctor who told me I have scabies. I am not sexually active since my husband died. My friends and acquaintances are not touchy-feely people and, even if they were, I cannot imagine them having scabies. But as there had/has been neither touchy nor feely it could not have been from them. None of my family live in the State where I live, and none of them have scabies.By reason of the time frame it had to be the movers for the prior owner of this place had not been in it for the week prior to close of escrow, and scabies can only live off a host for three days. One or both of the movers had scabies on their hands, arms, and/or clothes which came into contact with my mattress [especially given their mishandling of it and having trouble moving it up the steps and bending it], and then the scabies' mites came into contact with my person when I slept on my mattress.

This is a health hazard, for movers handling property when they are infected. Scabies are a living hell [they could be used as a weapon in wars], and the treatment is in fact an insecticide: permethrin. At sixty-eight to be putting an insecticide all over my old body is a frightening thought but I did it: for one would do most anything to be rid of scabies. I offered to settle with the owner for replacement of the mattress, but he has refused. I am going to need sue him in my County's Circuit Court and will go all the way to appeal if I lose for this is too much wrongs. I will also print fliers/brochures and state my experiences and give them out on the sidewalk near his place of business if law enforcement say this is okay. For it is just too, too much wrongs. I was not going to confront about the damaged mattress, for I knew there would be denial, no accountability, no care. Where is integrity? Where? But now with the scabies it is too many wrongs. This is terrible and wrong, and frankly I hope he and his family get scabies so that he will learn some humanity and caring. But it is questionable if there is any core of humanity and/or caring for him to have evoked as he is broken when it comes to each of these.
