Universal online promotions, 7 promotions inc, igs inc, c4 conections, j reider crew, j reider group, etc. Scam... False advertising

I'm going to make this short.

I went for an interview with Universal Online Promotions in NY... This company and many others (they are all over monster, careerbuiler, etc. Just type in entry level management and hit enter) anyway, these companies sell themselves as something they are not.

This is the kind of cr*p they use to suck you in: 'We are "Sports Minded"... Ok what does that mean? It means we're competitive, it means we have fun, it means we want to win, (& only work with winners) it means we're a team, it means we want to be the best. It also means practice (Work) is a sixty to seventy hour work week. We are not the biggest nor the best YET, but we will be!'

I naively read the job posting, which sounded legit, and it was going on about how the company deals with sports, event management, marketing, blah blah blah... So I apply and someone calls me immediately and we arrange an interview. (Very odd) It was like they were waiting for my call, I don't even think they had enough time to read my resume!

Anyway, I go for my interview and am told that I am going to shadow somebody. Shadow somebody? Isn't that what you do when you begin a job? I thought this was an interview? So a young guy introduces himself and tells me to follow him. Outside.

He takes me over to his car, a bmw, nice ride I thought, wonder if the job paid for that? Find out Daddy bought it for him. I ask him where we're going and he says to sell... He then tells me we are working for a client that sells cash registers and we start walking down the street going into dry cleaners and what not. I'm thinking 'what have I got myself into?!' Before I know it it's lunch and this is when he threw me all the figures about working my way into a 'leader' and all that B.S. None of it made sense and he acted shady when I asked him legit questions about salary when it was advertised as base plus commission. Of course he said it was commission only and at that point I just wanted to leave but we had gone in his car. Nightmare.

Anyway, these companies must be looked into by someone becaue I'm sure it's false advertising.

Another company I went for an interview for (can't remember the name) but we set up a stall outside a trader joes and sold items that were in the name of some charity. A couple of customers asked how much of it went to charity and the girls I was there with told them 80% of it went to the charity. They later told me it was about 10%. BEWARE OF THESE shady organizations. They just rip people off and use other company's 'creditable' names while doing it!!! All these 'promotional' 'marketing' 'advertising' companies should be under investigation.

Research them properly before you go into an interview and I hope others who have worked for these companies will anonomously come out and tell us their experiences. They are ripping good honest people off and it's not right.

Forgive my writing as I'm in a bit of a hurry but wanted to put my two cents in. Have a good day.
