I purchased a used 2005 Honda Accord in June with new Michelin MXV4 Plus XSE tires. At various times in the last year and less than 20,000 miles of standard city/highway wear, all four tires have failed with sidewall blowouts. I maintain my tires with proper inflation and the tread is still good, so there is no reason these supposedly high end tires should fail. I have never had these issues with any make/model of tire in the past twelve years with only 3 flats in my life prior to these tires (2 nails and one blowout). Michelin has only offered to do something for the most recent tire. With their solution being to go to an authorized Michelin dealer so they can inspect the tire and give me a reduced price on a replacement based on their inspection. This is unacceptable. I want Michelin to pay for the replacement of the four tires (3 already replaced at different times). I have the receipts and documentation of the incidents, but I went to the cheaper local dealer and bought off brand tires. I think it would be only fair for Michelin to cover the cost incurred to replace their defective products.
