Same thing happened to me in a city near Barcelona today around 1430h. How could i be such a fool!? I don't like big brands and I thought of myself as somebody that could not be fooled so easily!!! I see I'm not the only one now...
This friendly italian guy well dressed from head to feet in a black shiny new Audi car asked me for directions to Barcelona's airport... I told him "of course! Very easy!"...
Then because I had been so kind to him he told me this story about the fashion week, he had some catalogues with pictures inside the car, told me he was bringing samples along with him that he got really cheap and wanted to get rid of them and pay his car rental with that money...
First I said thanks but no thanks... I never buy expensive brands, and lately I told him that my economic situation was really bad, low salary etc...
Then I remenbered i in fact needed a nice looking dress for a wedding I would be attending and said wait a minute!!..
He told me all this rubbish that this stuff was very good, worth tons of money etc... I don't know much about clothing and materials...
It's amazing, I'm used to negociations, reading body language of the people...
I told him "Can I trust you?"... He said "Look for yourself!"... This guy was a very good actor... I finally said "Ok, ok, I'm going to believe you..."
And so I did... I negociated with him a better price. I told him 100 euros for the suit and I finally payed him 150 euros for a whole suit (which I must admit looked very good, I even tried it on...) and the infamous jacket which i though was a good deal for an extra 50 euros beeing leather and so on...
When I arrived home I did what I should have done when I was with the guy... Check the material in the interior label... It was all crap... Polyester etc...
I realized lately I was being too nice and confident with strangers...
A feeling of frustration... I went to look for the guy just in case he was still in the area... I wanted to trash his car and get my money back...
How had I been fooled like that?..
Then I remembered the alert signals I had not read properly in the spot...
His car had a german plaque number... (a rented car all the way from Germany could never match the airport story...)...
The suit is not bad actually, I needed one, I now have it... That's the one I'm going to wear in the wedding no matter what! As for the jacket... It does smell like petrol quite a lot...
I hope people don't get the info once they've been ripped off and look for links in the internet... Hope they get the info before!
