Earlier this year, I hired Mr. Morgan to liquidate my family's home contents prior ro prepping the house for sale.
My contract stated that I was to receive all monies and accouning 30 business days after the sale was complete. The sale took place the weekend of February 12,13 and 14, and Mr. Morgan claims to have sold "around $20,000 worth" of goods from my home. He was to take 35% of that.
That being said, I was to have everything accounted for and to have been paid in full by March 23.
The date of this report is May 18th. And I still have no idea what I'm supposed to get - even after he kindly "lowered" his rate to 25% because "he screwed up." (How m any times over the last month have I heard that from him?" He is now entitled to 0% as far as I'm concerned.
Though I live out of the state where the home is located, I had some close friends as well as my realtor keep an eye on things, and they did not fail me. However, Mr. Morgan failed me - miserably.
However, Mr. Morgan, to date, has either paid erratically, or not at all, and also bounced a check made out out me for $6,000.00. He has yet to make up that full amount, and I have seen nothing in writing to back up his claim of a total take of $20,000. It could be quite a bit more, but I have no way of knowing since he cannot be trusted.
Mr. Morgan's malfunction has caused me endless frustration and anger, since this house and the contents were the last things remaining of my family, who are now all deceased.
Mr. Morgan has a BBB rating of "F" which I failed to investigate as he came recommended to me.
Do not let this man handle your liquidation or anything of the kind. I believe he is a predator who doesn't give a damn about the clients and is willing to do anything to keep as much money as possible without accounting for it to the client.
I may be forced into litigation, but first I am sending all the e-mails and material I have to my state's attorney general's office. I'm sure they'd be very happy to find out about this shyster's business practices.
And I for one, would be very happy to see Mr. Morgan wearing an organge jumpsuit in state prison.
