I bought a horse trailer and was talked by Lonnie Corley into trading it for a black & White Paint stallion. I did that and he refused to give me the horse. The deal took place on his property.
The sheriff department said that it was a "civil matter" and I filed a small claims suit. Lonnie is a horse trader and is in business with an attorney, Herman Castette. He works as a court appointed attorney at the same court house I had to file my suit! When my day came in court, I had the bill of sale from the original horse owner stating that I traded my horse trailer for the horse in question. I could definatly prove I owned the trailer!
The judge dismissed the case without even looking at my papers. I found out that they all three are friends! The Judge, Thief and Attorney! So, I'm out 1,500.00 and the horse. I called the attorney general in Baton Rouge and he said by the judges own admittion, he let them get away with unauthorized use of my trailer and there was definatly a conflict of interest. The justice System in Winn Parish is crooked!!!
