If it had not been for consumer complaints, I too may have been a victim!
I had been searching for a horse trailer for awhile.in March I found one of interest on an equine website. And it was located within 100 miles from my home! (I had searched Pennsylvania-but he told me he was out of the US at that moment, and the trailer was in custody of the escrow company in Wichita, KS)
I was so close to sending the money via Western Union, but something made me "Google" the seller's name, and it popped right up on consumer complaints! The exact discription, the exact wording of e-mails between these potential customers and Mr. Swarr, as he and I had!"The trailer is in showroom condition." "I helped a friend get this trailer for himself. He ended up having to move and I took the trailer over and paid for in full. I am just wanting to get out of the trailer because I have no use for it."
I reported this to the Attorney Generals Office and the Federal Trade Commission, but at this time, I feel the best I can do to help others from making the mistake I almost made is to file a complaint.
