Pure Nutrients, Nature Cleanse
Nature Cleanse Weight Loss Scam. Did not honor shipping discount offered online. Charging creditcard after cancelled

I was sucked in to an online ad for health products to reduce weight I was promised a FREE 30 days trial offer for Nature Cleanse for only a shipping cost of initially $5.99. This product was presented as recommended by Dr OZ and Oprah as well as Rachel Ray (which I suppose now is unauthorized use of their name and recommendations?).

I responded to a pop up offering a discount on shipping to $1.99 if I clicked on "continue" which I did. When I filled out the order form, the $5.99 charge appeared and I anticipated that the discount would be figured upon hitting the submit button, but it did not.

Their site provided no company name, no address or phone number. Nor, did they have any policy statements or contract issues which required my acceptance to sign off on.

After they sent me a confirm email with a phone number, I contacted them only to be told that they would not honor the discounted shipping. Their email informed me that the "free" period was 14 days, not 30, and I was also going to be charged $80 for the first months supply.

I cancelled on the spot, but was told I would be charged for the shipping and maybe the first months supply for $80 after 14 days. I told them I was not authorizing any charges from them to my account and hung up.

I reported my PayPal Credit Card as Lost/Stolen to try to prevent their order information and charges to my account being posted. I called back and was able to get a company name and location from their customer service rep. I hope I made this move quick enough to prevent their charges, but they may have gotten it posted already. I will know when I get my bill I guess.

After reading about similar scam reports on your site, looks like they would keep charging my credit card even if I cancelled. I think any company selling on the web should be required by law to provide a legitimate company name, address, phone number. Also, it should be illegal to offer any 30 day "FREE" trial or discount online which is not honored as stated in their advertising.

Please beware of these "FREE" offers. Where have Consumer Protection Rights gone?
