Got a call from Portfolio Recovery Associates at 10:18 am May 5,09. First call from this company. They are to collect from me a debt on my Capital One credit card of $6000. I told the lady I never receive any default notice from Capital One and asked them for the Capital card # to verify that she has the right person. The lady refused to give me the card #, and said she is not collecting debt on behind of Capital One but it is a debt collection from Portfolio Recovery.
I explained that she must have the wrong person, but she persisted and verified my address. I told her she has the right address, but I don't have any credit card in default, and she has the wrong person, then I hanged up on her.
