I had placed a necklace on Craigslist for my younger sister and she was asking for $1000 for it. About 2 weeks later I had recived an e-mail form a Susan Williton stating that her company wanted to purchase the necklace. She said that they would send me extra money to pay for return shipping and what was left over I needed to send it back to the company. I gave her my address and everything thinking that this was going to be a legit sale. A week later I recieved a check for over twice the asking price. The check looked legit except that the bank address and the company address where the same and the check wasn't singed, it was printed out. So I looked up the company name on the internet and it is a company... The only thing is, they buy ELECTRONICS. So I contacted them via e-mail and they suggested that I take the check to the police along with the e-mails I recieved and that I was not the first person that this has happened to. Needless to say he told me that someone had gotten ahold of their OLD bank account info and has been sending out checks left and right always having the recipient send money back to a fake address. So don't believe someone on Craigslist that wants you to send them money in return and don't accept anything other than cash or cashiers check.
