This may be the same man who "rented" a property of mine back in 2002. He seemed legit having a CPA firm handling his "trust account" in Chapel Hill, Frank Elmore, CPA. Long story short... 4 bounced checks later, evicted 4 months later with over 4K owed and damage to property. See small claim action filed in wake county, NC #02GV010239 issued july 12. (I still have his little file to this day) Quite the learning experience for me.
At the time, as far as I found out he scammed the CPA, a furniture rental company, a car rental company, etc... Totaling around 50K. It all revolved around him having written a screen play that was accepted by a producer in New York. He proudly distributed the manuscript to all parties and fake checks from Citibank in parsippany, NJ which said accounts did not exist returned as "refer to maker". It was reported to check fraud claims. This was a smart guy. He copied my account numbers and gained access to my account to redeposit money to buy time. This was back 7 years ago when there was only monthly statements, not online access.
I can't believe this guy is still out there scamming people and even in the same area. Wow. I count myself as fortunate compared to others. I am sorry he has not been prosecuted yet. His address listed on this file belongs to another person deeded 3/20, prior to that it was HSBC Bank aquired on 10/15/07 from a poor couple who had purchased the property on 5/31/06. All a matter of public record in wake county, NC. I wonder if that couple were scammed too and lost their home to him. I wouldn't be surprised. I almost did.
I couldn't even report him to the credit reporting agencies because I didn't have at least 5 rentals in the area and did not use a property management company. Good this is available now. I was trying to get asleep tonight and suddenly he poped into my mind and I wondered about him after these 7 years. And vola! Weird. Really Weird. Good luck to you all.
