Lied to me and mislead me plus never called me back. Plus they're really creepy

I was working at Vons and was looking for a new job. I went on monster.com to see what was available. I found this Tri-Universal company that I had never heard of. I applied and the next day they called me for an interview the next day.

I went down there (it's approx. An hour drive) and it seemed like an ok place. Kinda small but ok. I filled out some paperwork then the manager called me into his office. I spoke with him and he said he'd call me back if I get the job. He called me back 2 hours later saying he wanted a second interview the next day. I went back and some lady said we were going to go into the "field." I drove another hour to the spot which was in front of a wells fargo bank. They taught me the basics on how to sell stuff (which was a ridiculous amount of work). After an hour they sent me back to the office and they gave me the final interview and said I was hired. He told me I had to work six days (9 1/2 hours each day) I worked a couple days in the charity division selling shirts and stuff. You get 35% (which really isn't that much) of the profit and the charity only gets 1%. If they ask you you're supposed to tell them 99% of the money goes to running the company.

Anyways, after a few days they transferred me to the HI (Home Improvement) department. Which you go to various Home Depots and "sell" in-home consultations for cabinet refacing and acrylic tubliners. The problem was I had to drive all the way to Covina (which is two hours away meaning a total of four hours driving) everyday. I also didn't get paid till three weeks in. The pay was $30 for every cabinet and tubliner "lead". Well I did it for two weeks.

In the middle of the second week I found out that the pay really was $30 for cabinets and only $8 for tubliners! I was furious. I thought I was doing pretty good for a starter till then. So my pay was basically cut in half (according to what I thought I made). Another problem was you keep running into the same people everyday. Contractors, carpenters, painters you name it. So there weren't many people you haven't talked to when you've been there for a week or two. After two weeks I was running out of money (because of the gas) so I called Mecca (the leader) and left a voice mail saying I can't make it till I get a gas card or some extra dough. Being that it's a commision job I didn't see the problem with it. I also texted her because I knew she liked to text.

Four days later I still hadn't received any word from her. I called her back asking her to text/call me letting me know she got the text/voice mail. Two weeks later I went to go pick up my check and she was like "Oh my gosh, what happened with you?" acting like she never even knew anything about anything. I was pissed. But I kept my cool and just left. I was so done with them. I barely made over what I paid in gas. They give you this false hope of becoming a manager and making like $56k a year but all they're doing is using people so the people already at the top get the money. The co-owner of the company has a freakin' house with a beach for a front yard worth like $10 million, you can't tell me they're not milking their workers for every penny.

Thank you for reading my story and please do not support this company in any way, shape or form. And if you really want to donate to charity, do it directly.
