A couple months back I received a phone call on my cell from an unknown number. I answered it and was advised that I won some sweepstakes through my MasterCard and could receive free subscriptions for a low price of $4.95.
It seemed like a good deal, but I still was not interested in the offer. The guy kept going on and on about how great of a deal I was passing up, and then asked me if I would at least put in a good word for him to his supervisor. I agreed to do so and when he connected me to his supervisor, the supervisor started spitting out my informationnone of which I had ever given to either person.
Then he began speaking quickly about how my account would be charged around $75.00 one time and I immediately told him NO I am not interested His reply was to hang up the phone on me. When I got home I checked my bank acct online and saw a charge of the $75.00. I called my bank and told them I needed to cancel my acct as soon as possible due to fraudulent activity. They did so immediately. I started receiving magazines with bills saying I owed blank amt of dollars to them and to mail a check. No way am i mailing a check to them. I want them to stop sending magazines and bills to my house or i am going to contact a lawyer.
