Approximately 8pm on the above date my friend and I ordered Chinese food at this restaurant and were waiting for takeout. We observed the front lady who was answering the phones and bagging take out orders and assisting in the cooking area. When she had a break from the phones she picked up a young child (appeared between 1-2 years old) and was holding her in the kitchen area and then proceeded to a counter area that was to the side of the kitchen area near the bathroom and laid the child on the counter and changed her diaper. After the diaper change this lady never went to the bathroom to wash her hands and immediately was in the kitchen area, opening up the refrigerator and helping bag food. We confronted her about washing her hands and she states "the diaper was not dirty". We explained the importance of always washing her hands and we left without our food. I am never against family operated restaurants and love children but a restaurant kitchen is not a safe place to be holding, or allowing young children to be. We trust restaurant workers to keep our food safe to eat. I am sure no health inspector would allow diaper changing on restaurant counters. And then, how sad, not to wash hands with all the education done regarding this simple hand washing task to keep from spreading diseases.
