I entered a sweepstakes awhile back that cost me nothing to enter which I received in the mail. Today I received what appeared to be documentation to verify my information for the winnings and delivery of that sweepstakes for the prize amount I had marked of $2,274, 000.00 in cash (had choice of that or $60,000 a year). At first I thought this meant I had won that sweepstakes I had entered and totally forgot about!
They asked for $20 validation fee, so I decided to look this company up on the internet. (and the fact I never win anything, so seemed too good to be true) complaint had an article about others whom had been suckered in by Prize Information Exchange (PIE). After reading that, I read the documents more closely and realized what they were really saying, in a very misleading manner, was for a release of a "report" (the product they are selling) which they want $20 for and verification of information to send that product to. Not release of the monies and validation of delivery information thereof. They even gave a deadline of 10 days in which this must be done and returned or I lose out. Thank you complaint for helping me not to be totally loopy and fall for this scam.
