Dishonest, tricked and lied to us ripped off and scammed consumer fraud

On my second time purchasing a car from this dealership, you would think they might show some appreciation as to my customer loyalty. I unfortunatly, couldn't have been more wrong. I was treated well up until the point my credit score had been established. My credit isn't vast, nor poor, but you would think I had filed for banruptcy the way I was treated.

It was as if I no longer was doing them a favor by purchasing a car there, they were doing me a favor by finding a bad borrower a lender. They later told me the car I wanted didn't look promising, and I might have to look for something less expensive (older). This is exactly what I was trying to avoid.

Three years prior I purchased a car at the same dealership that had since broken down multiple times. Since it was not worth the repair I decided it was time to look for an ugrade. Unfortunatly that day they were unable to help me. The next day I received a call and was told I was approved and would just have to sign on the dotted line.

When I arrived I found none of this was true and they were still "working on it". Five hours later, and after they found out the very highest monthly payments, and down payment I couldn't afford - we were in business.

While signing the paperwork I noticed what was agreed upon and what was in writing were very much different. However there was a believable lie to every question I had. I left happy, but reserved with my shiny used/new car.

Later I was called and told if I didn't bring proof of insurance they wanted the car back immediatly, by Betsy (a very rude woman). I wish now I would have granted that return, but this wouldn't be the only time I would be threatened with repossesion of the car.

Upon return to the dealership I spoke with the owner about pricing I couldn't understand. For example: Why was there a $750.00 window etch fee, when this was a pre-existing feature of the car.

Brett stated I wasn't "actually paying for the window etch" (a complimentry service by the p.D.), but for the security warranty (silly me I thought warranties were FREE). I also had some concerns on the way the numbers were layed out.

No number for my actual trade, and a amount of playing with the numbers did not benefit me in the contract. Not only did they sell the car over MSRP, but made a heafty profit off all the add ons, and future sale of my trade.
After spending hours of explaining, Brett could still not give justifible reasons for any of my concerns. Fed-up he grabbed my copies of the contract and said "he was winding back the agreement".

At the time I still wanted the car, so I resisted. He then stated I owed him some $364.00 for the mileage and re-conditioning of the car I was no longer able to purchase, payment due immediatly. After some groveling on my behalf he stated I would be able to get the car back, if I wrote him a check for the total down payment of $1400.00 which was previously split and due over time.

After some cooling down he agreed to go back to the original contract. He was also curtious enough to grant me the opportunity to change my mind after "sleeping on it".

Only two days later the check engine light comes on and the car starts to have an abnormal idle followed by a tire blow-out on the highway.

There really is nothing like trying to change a tire on a small shoulder with cars whizzing past your head at 70 mph.

Upon my return to the dealership, I stated to Brett (over the phone) I would like to be released from our agreement. And of corse, he denied, stating I could change my mind and would have his mechanic look at the car. All of which I am sure would be at my cost.

Now I wonder how some businesses are allowed to run this way, and realize that we the consumer entitle these actions by continuing to accept this treatment.

I WILL NOT take this lying down. I can only hope the dealership in question does the right thing, and corrects the situation. We shall see.
