Since my family and I have moved to our apartment and have had dealings with the gas company it's been total chaos. On one occasian I was sent a bill stating I had to pay 83.00 two weeks later I got a bill for almost 300.00 dollars. I paid a 250.00 deposit off the back and on 2-12-09 they came in the middle of the night and turned my gas off I have a family two small kids who need heat and hot water. I immediately called cust. Service and they claimed it was a error on their behalf and for some strange reason it was sent to collection even though my wife and I had'nt seen a shut-off notice, I spoke with several different representatives assuring me the problen would be handled asap also to lokok in the mail that I should be getting some packet in the mail so they can fix the confusion with the collection agency. As of today I just found out another company took over I did'nt receive a notification letter noting the changes and all today I have been trying to take care of this issue so my kids can take a hot bath.in talking with the gas company the rep said I owed a outrageos amount of 700.00 dollars but they will take a partial payment of 500.00 so that would mean we never paid our bill which is untrue. I'ts not fair that because I was'nt properly informed they can stick any amount over my head and I'm stuck I'm trying to stay as calm as possible but my next step is my local news station.
